BY-LAWS FOR CONDUCTING WEDDINGS OR MARRIAGES IN L.C.C.

 
THIS CHURCH RECOGNIZES THE FOLLOWING MARRIAGES AS LEGAL;
 
  1. NATIVE LAWS AND CUSTOMARY MARRIAGE
  2. COURT MARRIAGE
  3. CHURCH WEDDING OR ORTHODOX MARRIAGE.
IT IS NOT BINDING FOR INTENDING COUPLES TO CONDUCT A CHURCH WEDDING.
WHERE A COUPLE FEELS THAT THEY CANNOT AFFORD CHURCH WEDDING, THEY CAN HAVE THEIR TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE AND INFORM THE CHURCH TO BLESS THEIR MARRIAGE.
 
LAWS GUIDING CHURCH WEDDINGS IN LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE.
 
  1. THE PASTOR MUST BE NOTIFIED BEFORE ANY SERIOUS COMMITMENT IS MADE. i.e. COURTSHIP, ENGAGEMENTS, AND INTRODUCTIONS TO PARENTS E.T.C.
  2. MEMBERS SHOULD BE CAREFUL IN CHOOSING A MATE. A CHRISTIAN CANNOT MARRY AN UNBELIEVER.
  3. PENTECOSTAL/CHARISMATIC CHRISTIANS ARE ADVISED TO MARRY FROM THEIR CHURCH OR SISTER CHURCHES.
  4. THE CHURCH WILL NOT CONDUCT A WEDDING BETWEEN A BELIEVER AND UNBELIEVER OR PERSONS WHOSE CHRISTIAN FAITH AND IDENTITY IN CHRIST ARE IN DOUBT.
  5. BRETHREN WHO WISH TO MARRY FROM NON-PENTECOSTAL CHURCHES ARE FREE TO DO SO BUT SUCH WEDDINGS CANNOT BE CONDUCTED IN LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE.
  6. A-THREE MONTH NOTICE OF MARRIAGE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE CHURCH IFYOU ARE WEDDING IN LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE.
  7. ALL INTENDING WEDDING COUPLES MUST BE SCREENED AND INTERVIEWED BY THE PASTOR AND THE CHURCH MARRIAGE COMMITTEE.
  8. IF YOU ARE WEDDING IN LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE AND YOUR FIANCEE OR FIANCE IS FROM ANOTHER PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION MUST BE PROVIDED.
  9. A FEE OF N1, OOO.OO MUST BE PAID TO THE CHURCH FOR WEDDING CERTIFICATE BEFORE WEDDING CAN BE CONDUCTED.
  10. LATENESS ON WEDDING DAY WILL ATTRACT A FINE OF N2000-5000. THIS FINE MUST BE PAID BEFORE WEDDING CAN COMMENCE.
  11. INTENDING COUPLES WILL BE REQUIRED TO CONDUCT BLOOD TEST, HIV AND OTHER NECESSARY TESTS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CHURCH.
  12. ALL WEDDING RECEPTIONS IN THE CHURCH PREMISES WILL NOW ATTRACT A FEE OF N3, 000.00. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND NEGOCIABLE.

A CALL TO FAITHFULNESS
 
TEXT: 2 KINGS 12: 15
 
 “Moreover they did not require an account from the men into whose hand they delivered the money, to be paid to workmen, for they dealt faithfully”.
 
Gen 39:6 “Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance”
 
The word faithfulness is a noun derived from the word faithful, which is an adjective
1.     It means to be steadfast in allegiance
2.     Conscientious in adhering to ones obligations or promises. Loyal. Constant, trust to (a person especially a sexual partner), ones word or beliefs. Unwavering, steadfast, obedient, dutiful, dedicated and committed.
Can I say that I am faithful?
Can you say without a shadow of doubt that you are faithful?
Are we obedient, loyal, steadfast, dutiful, dedicated and committed?
Can God call us His faithful servant? In Ps. 12: 1 David cried out “ Help lord for the Godly man ceases for the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.”
Faithful men and women are very scares. Unfaithfulness is the order of the day.
Nigeria is a rich nation, but we are suffering in the midst of plenty. From the soul of our feet to the crown of our head, there is no soundness. Corruption has eaten us up as a nation. Evil is called good, while good is called evil.
 
THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD
 
The God you and I serve is a faithful God.
1 kings 8: 56 “Blessed be the lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised his servant Moses.”
 
THE FAITHFULNESS OF CHRIST
 
1 Thess.5: 24 “ He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it”
2Thess. 3:3 “ For the lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard from the evil one”
Rev. 19: 11 “ Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And he who sat on him was called faithful and true, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.”
 
FAITHFUL MEN IN THE BIBLE
 
1.     JOSEPH Gen 39: 6 “ Thus he left all that he had in Josephs hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance”
2.     The workmen under Jehoiada   2kings 12:15 “ moreover they did not require an account from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to be paid to workmen, for they dealt faithfully”
3.     The workmen under Helkiah.  2 Chron. 34: 11- 12.  “ 11 They gave it to the craftsmen and builders to buy hewn stone and timber for beams, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed. 12 And the men did the work faithfully. Their overseers where Jahath and Obadiah the Levites, of the sons of Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to supervise. Others of the Levites, all of whom were skillful with instruments of music”
4.     Nehemiah’s treasurer Neh.13: 13 “ And I appointed as treasurers over the store house Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah ; and next to them was Hanaan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were considered faithful, and their task was to distribute to their brethren”
5.     Daniel - Dan.6: 4 “So the Governors and Satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him 
6.     Moses – Num.12: 7 “ Not so with my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house”.    Heb.3: 5 “ And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward”
7.     Timothy –1Cor.4: 17 “ For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church”
 
GOD REQUIRES FAITHFULNESS IN STEWARDSHIP
 
1 cor.4: 2 “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful”
People don’t like and do not want to be accountable. There is breach of trust everywhere.
 
THE REWARD OF FAITHFULNESS
Matt.25: 14-29
 
Luke 16 10- 12 “He who is faithful in what is least, is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
 
GOD WILL ALWAYS REWARD OUR FAITHFULNESS NOT OFFICE
 
1Cor. 15: 58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the lord, know that your labor is not in vain in the lord.
